When we bought the app in the first place, it was a contract between the company and us, the end user. The people saying they are justified with the price are failing to consider that GoodNotes is essentially not valuing the initial agreement made with the customer. This is the truth: GoodNotes 6 isn't a new app, it's simply an update to GoodNotes 5. But the problem now is, owners of the app cannot in fact access everything the app offers without paying for a subscription or paying 3 times the original cost. I was extremely satisfied with the pricing too. I chose GoodNotes over Notability simply for the reason that I could own the software I use. When people bought GoodNotes 5, they bought it under the impression that they will own a full copy of the app, and everything inside which makes sense because that's how it was. If GoodNotes 6 is really a new generation of GN Software, it shouldn’t be filled with 5 star reviews for a different app. I do understand that there are some positive implications to this, such as longer suport for GoodNotes 5 (?), but as many others have pointed out: it isn't very ethical in the sense that GoodNotes 6 instantly became a high rated previous app of the year on the app store.Īnd this is simply an issue with how this update was branded. I am all for new features, and I am really glad that the developer team is actively trying to improve the app.īut GoodNotes 6 should simply have been a seperate app. Hi all, I'm just taking the time to write this not because I hate the developer's guts or anything, but simply because I am passionate about this app, and it's infuriating to see it come to this state.
